This afternoon we ventured out to the Swan Valley for a little R&R. It was a feast for the senses and a pleasant way to regain some creative inspiration. With camera in hand I happily snapped away at the beautiful scenery.
Following some wine tasting and a visit to Caversham House we dined at Sandalford Winery.
Entrée:
Estate Baked Sour Dough, Beurre Lescure
&
Rottnest Scallops Rockefeller, Crispy Jamón, Herbed Hollandaise
Main:
Saffron Fettuccine, Prawn, Chorizo, Shallot, Chilli, Manjimup Black Truffle, Pecorino
Grilled Derby Barramundi Fillet, Sweet Potato Gratin, Artichoke Cream
Wine of the day:
Prendiville Chardonnay – this was a delicious full bodied buttery bouquet which went down a treat!
I’m putting this decadent afternoon down to a celebration of the beautiful Italian phrase “dolce far niente” (meaning: the sweetness of doing nothing or pleasant idleness)
