HELLO FROM DOWNUNDER! Oh and Happy New Year!! It’s another warm, sunny day of exploring in and around South Australia’s capital city, Adelaide (now affectionately known as RADelaide).
We’re based in Glenelg, an easy tram ride from Rad Town! I have summed up the beach side town of Glenelg in three words: 1. Ice-cream 2. Shopping 3. Beach. Just a few necessary ingredients for a wonderful little recipe entitled, Holiday! Insert Madonna song here 😉. But seriously, I have never seen so many people eating ice-cream in one place! It’s fabulous! 🍦
Today I’m hanging at RADelaide’s Central Markets which is heaven for food writers, overflowing with fresh fruit & vege, cheese, nuts (not in our house though!), bakery items and other essentials:
For lunch, I stopped by Zuma caffe for a Vanilla Latte and Avocado Smash (love Avocado! So summery and delicious).
Yesterday I shopped my little legs off! I must point out, I am not a regular on the shopping scene but ‘holiday shopping’ is rather difficult to resist! Have you ever noticed how much clearer your mind is on holidays?? Decision making on the clothes front is at it’s peak and somehow things are more flattering when one is feeling carefree & uninhibited.
Then there’s the restaurants & cafes in Ye Beachside Town of Glenelg. I’ve never seen so many appealing eating places in a small space. Some of the best overlook Glenelg’s very own Piazza, Moseley Square. On New Years Eve, we snapped up the last table at Cardone’s Seafood & Grill – a little way down from Moseley, nonetheles a most exquisite dining experience on the service and food front (love it when spontaneity works out!) Four courses later, we checked out the band up the road then headed back to our apartment to watch the New Year fireworks display from our balcony.
So here we are in 2015! I hope your year is off to a great start 😊
I will leave you with some highlights from my current fave holiday destination, RADelaide! ☀️
