My mission today was to challenge myself with a new cupcake flavour. After a beautiful week of sunshine, the rain came pouring down this afternoon and this recipe is bursting with comforting winter spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves). The brown sugar gives the cakes a crispy outside, which compliments the light and fluffy texture in the centre. This is my first attempt at decorating too. I kept it pretty simple as the cakes taste great on their own. I’ve also been experimenting with my husband’s DLSR camera. There’s so much to learn! Who would have thought that focusing on food would bring about so many other fun and creative things to master.
